1 JANUARY 2019: VORONEZH, RUSSIA

Reports emerged that ice hockey player Oleg Saprykin’s drunk and violent behaviour resulted in an Aurora Airlines flight from Sochi to Moscow to be diverted to Voronezh. Saprykin, flying in business class, allegedly requested alcohol and began shouting at the cabin crew when denied. Whilst flight attendants attempted to calm Saprykin down, he proceeded to physically attack a female flight attendant, which triggered an emergency landing. Saprykin was removed and the flight continued to Moscow. Neither the flight attendant nor the airline pressed charges against the famous hockey player. Saprykin was fined for his behaviour.
