11 MARCH 2020: DUBLIN, AIRPORT

Job Van den Broek, 30, was jailed for two months in relation to an incident on an Aer Lingus flight from Amsterdam to Dublin. Van den Broek was on his phone whilst crew members attempted to deliver flight safety information. Later in the flight, he lied that he was talking to his mother who had the coronavirus. When asked, he neither confirmed nor denied whether he had the virus himself, causing panic amongst the crew and passengers. Passengers were quarantined and underwent health checks when the flight landed.
