Reports emerged that a 20-year-old student was fined €380,000 (c. £330,000) in respect of bomb threats he made in October and December 2016. The bomb threats were made to Charleroi airport amongst other locations. The police were able to trace the man from the IP address associated to his messages on his Facebook. He was also sentenced to 300 hours of community service and received a fine of €300 (c. £260).
