Abderraoof Alkhawaldeh and Issam Abdallah allege that racial profiling caused their American Airlines flight from Birmingham to Dallas to be cancelled. The men, who were travelling separately, recognised each other on the aircraft and waved at one another. The flight was then delayed, and Abdallah went to the bathroom. When he opened the door, he claimed a flight attendant was standing close by. The flight was then cancelled and for security reasons. Abdallah then claimed he was approached by police officers and an FBI agent who took him into a room for questioning. The alleged reason for the questioning was because Abdallah used the toilets and flushed twice.
