An Air Greenland helicopter was attacked by a polar bear at Sandersons Hope, according to Greenlandic police. The bear smashed the helicopter’s windscreen whilst searching for food. All the passengers escaped unharmed and alerted the police after locking themselves in a nearby cabin. As the bear left the helicopter of its own accord, the police elected not to shoot the animal as would be normal practice.
