Jacob Meir Abdellak, a French national, was sentenced to 10 months in prison and ordered to pay a £140 victim surcharge after issuing a bomb threat to delay his Norwegian Airlines flight from Gatwick to Los Angeles on 11 May because he was running late. Investigators found that the phone number used to make the threat was the same one used to make Abdellak’s flight reservation. Abdellak maintained his innocence until the day of the trial when he changed his plea to guilty.
