Reports emerged that Seao Loli, a former flight attendant for Virgin Australia New Zealand, was dismissed from his job after he was accused of performing a sex act on a passenger in the rear galley of a flight in February 2018. The accusations emerged in June 2018. The Employment Relations Authority found that there was not enough evidence to support this claim but that Loli did supply the passenger with complementary beers when he should not have. Virgin Australia were ordered to pay NZ$20,000 (c. £10,235) as compensation to Loli. However, Loli, intends to appeal the decision as he believes his name has not been fully cleared.
