A 46-year-old Japan Airlines cabin crew member failed a pre-flight breathalyser test at Narita Airport, exceeding the limit of 0.10 milligrams by 0.5 milligrams. Initially, the female flight attendant passed the mandatory pre-flight breathalyser test, but after boarding the flight to Honolulu, two other crewmembers demanded she be tested again after smelling alcohol on her breath. The female flight attendant insisted she had not been drinking and claimed the positive result was because of her mouthwash.
