Around 15 employees of Reshebile Aviation and Protection Services were reportedly held hostage in their office by former airport security guards, who were demanding to speak to Director Shadrack Dladla regarding missing pension payments. It is understood regular payments had ceased in July 2017, with outstanding payments amounting to a total of R1.2 million (c. £71,500).
