Russian nationals, Igor Girkin, Sergey Dubinsky, Oleg Pulatov and a Ukrainian, Leonid Kharchenko, were named as suspects by the Joint Investigation Team for playing a ‘significant role’ in the MH17 crash in July 2014, which killed all 298 people onboard. The Malaysia Airlines flight from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur was shot down near Donetsk, in eastern Ukraine.
