Disability activists, Kuhu Das and Jeeja Ghosh, were humiliated at Kolkata Airport where they had arrived to board their GoAir flight to Delhi for a meeting to discuss disability rights for women. Kuhu Das, a polio survivor, was told by security to remove her leg braces before she passed through a scanner; this would have required her to remove her trousers. Jeeja Ghosh, has cerebral palsy and was told she could not fly without an escort. Kolkata airport authorities issued an apology to the women.
