Reports emerged that Carmella Davano, a United Airlines employee, was charged with disorderly conduct after she racially abused a passenger in February at George Bush Intercontinental Airport. Cacilie Hughes approached Davano and requested a refund code. Davano repeatedly called her a ‘monkey’ and a ‘shining monkey.’ Police were called and Davano was issued a citation for profane and abusive language in a public space.
