Reports emerged that Al Shabaab carried out two terrorist attacks that involved the use of suicide car bombs near Baraawe Airport. Al Shabaab claimed that there were casualties; however, the African Union denied this stating that troops detonated the vehicles before they reached the base and that there were no injuries.
