The International Criminal Investigation Team leading the investigation into the downing of MH17 over Ukraine in 2014 concluded that a Russian-made missile had been fired from pro-Russian rebel-controlled territory near the Russian border. It is unclear if the missile was shot by Russian troops or provided by Russia to Ukrainian rebels. Russia continues to deny any involvement.
