Seif al-Din Mohamed Mostafa, 61, was sentenced to life in prison for hijacking an EgyptAir flight that was scheduled to fly from Alexandria to Cairo in March 2016. Mostafa used a fake suicide belt to threaten and hijack the flight which landed in Larnaca. No passengers were injured. He was accused of using the hijacking to promote the ideology of the Islamist group the Muslim Brotherhood.
