A $1.1 million lawsuit was filed against the Port of Portland, Alaska Airlines and Michelle Brannan for an incident that occurred in December 2017. The lawsuit states that 5-year-old Gabriella Gonzalez was waiting at the gate area of Portland International Airport, with her family, when Michelle Brannan’s emotional support Pitbull attacked her, injuring her face which required surgery. The lawsuit stated that Brannan knew her dog had vicious tendencies, and that the airline and airport should not have allowed the dog, which was not a trained service dog, to wait in the waiting area without being properly confined. The dog was allegedly not in a pet carrier.
