A report submitted in 2002 stated that two Nigerian Airways employees, Major General Olu Bajowa and Captain Mohammed Joji, embezzled the airline of $17.6 million that was intended for the payment of two aircraft. The money was never recovered, and the men were not prosecuted. Years later, the recommendations of the report have still not been implemented by the government.
