Three Portuguese immigration officers were charged with the murder of a Ukrainian national who had tried to enter Portugal without correct documentation on 12 March. The man had become agitated when being forcibly deported. It is alleged that the immigration officers tied up his legs and arms and handcuffed him before repeatedly punching and kicking him. He was left in a room alone, where he had a seizure. He was later pronounced dead at the scene.
