30 SEPTEMBER 2020: SEBHA, LIBYA

The Khalifa Hafter-led Libyan National Army prevented an Afriqiyah Airlines flight from landing at Sebha airport by blocking the runway using military vehicles. The flight from Tripoli was forced to return to Tripoli’s Mitiga airport. The LNA claimed that its blockade was designed to force all flights from Tripoli-controlled areas to land in Eastern Libya first, before continuing to their destinations within Hafter controlled territory, as they wanted to screen all passengers themselves to prevent Tripoli from sending terrorists and extremists to Sebha.
