5 MARCH 2019: LONDON, ENGLAND

Three crude improvised explosive devices were sent to the post room at Waterloo train station and the head offices of London City and Heathrow airports. The IEDs, capable of creating a small fire, were each packaged in an A4 white envelope bag and a Jiffy bag. The addresses were handwritten on the packages and sent from Ireland. The packaging had an image of a heart with the words love and Eire written on them. The Irish Republican Army (IRA) claimed responsibility. Police stated that the IRA sent a codeword to a Northern Irish media outlet confirming the parcels were from them.
