PC Matthew Lucas, a South Yorkshire police officer, was found guilty of gross misconduct for failing to report the inappropriate use of a police helicopter, which filmed a couple having sex on their patio and naked sunbathers on 28 July 2008. The officers were meant to be responding to reports of a stolen scooter. Although Lucas did not have control of the camera or helicopter, he did not report the incident and was consequently handed a written final warning.
