Patrick Walters, 48, was sentenced to a year in jail for ‘body slamming’ an air hostess at Port Hedland airport in April 2017. The Qantas flight, heading to Brisbane, had been preparing for take-off when flight attendant, Karyn Dwyer, denied boarding to Walters’ colleague for being too drunk. The man then became verbally aggressive towards Dwyer and Walters, then proceeded to record the incident and threatened to upload the video on YouTube. Dwyer tried to stop Walters from recording her, but Walters responded by tackling her into the plane’s galley. Before the incident Dwyer had asked Walters to change his seat from the emergency exit seat because he was drunk.
