Nathan Shamai, his wife and his 17-year old brother were placed under house arrest after they allegedly argued and physically assaulted a flight attendant at Chișinău International Airport. The group were travelling from Uman to Tel Aviv via Chișinău, and were on their connecting flight to Tel Aviv. The flight attendant asked the teenager to stop smoking; Nathan Shamai then spoke to the flight attendant and allegedly physically attacked her. The group then shouted ‘Nazi’ as they struggled with security personnel. Shamai claimed that he went to speak to security because his brother was refused boarding and did not know English. He then stated that they were forcefully arrested.
