Reports emerged that Karelia Aleksey Kaydalov, former minister of Road Economy, Transport and Communication was sentenced to two months in prison for accepting a bribe of over 800,000 roubles (c. £8,600) for helping an unnamed organisation secure a construction contract at an airport. Igor Volchek, deputy director for Petrozavodsk Airport Construction, was also arrested in relation to the case.
