9 JUNE 2019: CHANDIGARH, INDIA

An AirAsia flight from Delhi to Srinagar was forced to make an emergency landing in Chandigarh after the first officer, pilot Ravi Raj, accidentally entered the hijack code instead of an emergency code because the engine stalled. Air traffic control picked up the signal and alerted security agencies. The DGCA suspended Raj for three months on 19 July and Capt. Kiran Sangwan was given a warning for the incident.
