Khalifa Haftar’s Libyan National Army targeted Mitiga International Airport with at least 80 rocket strikes. The shells hit fuel tanks and two Libyan Airlines Airbus aircraft, neither of which had passengers on board. Six people were killed and dozens were injured. The shelling occurred shortly after the UN Support Mission in Libya condemned the attacks in Libya and on civilians, stating that they “may amount to war crimes.”
