Several flight attendants from Air France spoke out about sexual harassment and assault that is allegedly prevalent within the company. The whistleblowers’ stories indicated apathy from their fellow colleagues. Air France responded saying that they are committed to fighting against sexism and the gender stereotypes that exist within the airline and the industry.

19 MAY 2020: COARI, BRAZIL

Reports suggest that the Brazilian Air Force should have fired warning shots whilst intercepting an illegal flight over the Amazon on 18 March, in accordance with the Aerospace Operations Command (COMAE). The flight was unknown to air traffic control. The Brazilian Air Force escorted the aircraft to Porto Urucu Airport.

Junin Ko, 22, died after he was struck by a Southwest Airlines flight that was landing on runway 17-R at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport. Perimeter security at the airport was called into question after it was found that Ko did not have security clearance.

27 APRIL 2020: DURRËS, ALBANIA

Two brothers, Besmir and Victor Haxhia were shot and killed in Durrës. The brothers were allegedly involved in drug trafficking and were linked to the Rinas Airport heist of 2019 in which 4.6million euros (c. 4,095,000) was stolen. The Haxhia brothers allegedly hid one of the perpetrators.
