An Air China flight from Changsha to Beijing diverted to Zhengzhou after a 41-year-old male passenger by the name of Xu attempted to take a female member of cabin crew hostage using a fountain pen as a weapon. Xu was reported to have aggressively held the fountain pen to the flight attendant’s throat while shouting for others to stay away. The incident was eventually resolved and no-one was injured. Xu was reported to have a history of mental illness.
