Lydia Beairsto, 44, was fired from her role as security manager for Mitchell International Airport after she fell victim to an email scam by someone posing as her boss, Brian Dranzik. The scammer asked Beairsto to buy $2,100 worth of gift vouchers – to gift to employees as a surprise – and to send a picture of the vouchers with the pin numbers exposed, which she did. Bearisto then grew suspicious when the scammer asked for more gift cards. The cards were redeemed in Saudi Arabia.
